Taking urban automated driving to the next stage: Together with Mercedes-Benz, we have now launched a pilot project for an app-based ride-hailing service using automated cars. The shuttle service will initially be available to a selected group of users in the Silicon Valley city of San José. Monitored by a safety driver, the self-driving S-Class vehicle shuttles can be booked using an app. This trial is expected to provide valuable insights for the further development of automated driving.
