The risk of direct impacts from Hurricane Kiko decreased Monday as the tropical cyclone showed signs it would pass to the north of the Hawaii an Islands, forecasters said.

An advisory for high surf of 10 feet or higher, or a warning for surf of 15 feet or higher, is likely overnight Monday for east-facing shores, the weather service said.
